Fill meter progressions drive revenue

Slot machines with standalone fill meter progressions have much higher average revenue impacts than those that combine fill meters with maps or collections.

This is due in part to the fact that showing players’ progress by gradually filling in a single object—rather than marking off a series of separate objects—significantly increases completion rates and prolongs engagement.

To examine this effect further, we analyzed two new machines with distinctive fill meters. In House of Fun’s Aztec Summer, players advance a sun across the reel set to change the machine from day to night. In Lotsa Slots’ Flower Frenzy, two kinds of pixie symbols fill two different meters to upgrade a bonus wheel spin.
