How To Improve Long-Running Collections
MARVEL SNAP’s Snap Packs are a major rework of the app’s core card-collecting progression. In the previous system, base game milestones awarded a chance to open a weekly loot box containing four cards, but those cards could be cards that players already owned. With Snap Packs, milestones now award tokens that allow players to buy the most recently released card or two types of packs that guarantee an unowned card.
The two types of packs speed up progression for different player types. Seasonal packs make it easier for veteran players to obtain new cards by guaranteeing unowned cards from the current and most recent 1–2 seasons. Meanwhile, collection packs help new and returning players catch up on older card releases faster by awarding unowned cards from the rest of the app’s entire catalogue.
