Town-Building Level Feature
DoubleU Casino’s DUC Dream Town requires players to spin slots and progress in certain features in order to construct and upgrade buildings in a town. Completed buildings then produce currency and rewards for those features, which directs engagement back into other parts of the app.
Because of this interconnectedness and other key design decisions, Dream Town has the potential to become the app’s main hub—if it becomes popular enough with players. Although upgradable town hubs are standard in many casual and core genres, they’re largely untested in the casino market.
Level feature releases were down in 2022 compared to 2021. However, this decrease is entirely due to a lack of level feature releases in Q3 ’22, as all other quarters were identical between the two years. DUC Dream Town is the only level feature released by any tracked casino app so far in 2023.
The Price Is Right: Bingo!, from the developer of Bingo Story, distinguishes itself with both its IP (The Price Is Right) and mechanics that increase the pace of gameplay, such as instant win conditions, random boosts and bonuses, and a high number of rewards that help players progress in events.
Jackpotland has quickly broken into the 100 top-grossing casino apps by offering modern slot mechanics (like elaborate bonuses and a high degree of player agency), a number of familiar meta-features, and a polished presentation. This is the first casino entry for developer REIN TECHNOLOGY, which has produced several successful apps in the casual space.
